Misael Cruz’s Powerball ticket matched five out of six winning numbers, earning him almost $4 million. Cruz credits his win to his habit of buying tickets for SuperLotto, Powerball, and Mega Millions every time he buys gas.
Cruz expressed that he had a lucky feeling on the day he bought the tickets. A text from his son prompted him to check his ticket, which he did three times before believing he won.
The Fontana-based gas station, ARCO ampm, has a reason to celebrate as well. They will receive a $19,936 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Cruz plans to invest some of the money but says that he will keep his frugal ways and continue to help others. “I will still shop for the cheapest prices,” Cruz said.
