“Beetlejuice” sequel in the works with Jenna Ortega to star as Winona Ryder’s daughter

Warner Bros. has announced that “Beetlejuice 2” is coming to the big screen in Fall 2024, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The sequel will see the return of Michael Keaton as the iconic “Beetlejuice” character and Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz.

The new film will also introduce a new character, portrayed by Jenna Ortega, who will play the daughter of Ryder’s character. Ortega, known for her role in the Netflix series “You” and the upcoming live-action “The Little Mermaid” film, has been rising in popularity in recent years.

The original “Beetlejuice” movie, released in 1988, has become a cult classic over the years. The film tells the story of a deceased couple who enlist the help of a ghost named Beetlejuice to haunt their former home.
