Girl group BLACKPINK worked together on songs from world-renowned pop star Lady Gaga’s new album.
According to Lady Gaga’s sixth album “Chromatica” tracklist released on her SNS on the 22nd (local time), the 10th track “Sour Candy” is marked with “With BLACKPINK.”
In “Cromatica,” which consists of 16 songs, you can see Lady Gaga with all new collaborators, including superstar Ariana Grande, K-pop phenomenon Black Pink and legendary pop icon Elton John, Billboard said, referring to the track list.
Initially, “Cromatica” was scheduled to be released on the 10th, but the release was temporarily postponed due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection (COVID 19). It has yet to disclose the exact release date.
BLACKPINK’s agency YG Entertainment said Sunday that Black Pink and Lady Gaga naturally carried out the work as they listened to each other’s music and became fans.
BLACKPINK entered the U.S. in earnest in 2018 after signing a contract with Universal Music’s label Interscoprecord.
In April last year, their “Kill This Love” ranked 41st on the U.S. Billboard’s main single chart “Hot 100” and 24th on the main album chart “Billboard 200,” the highest record in the history of Korean girl groups.
They also made 32 world tours in 23 cities including North America, Europe, Australia and Asia.
They also participated in British pop singer Dua Lipa’s “KISS AND MAKE UP” and experienced collaboration with global pop stars.
At that time, the song ranked 36th on the British official single chart “Top 100,” which is considered one of the world’s two biggest pop charts along with Billboard.
