“I Purple You”
(PRESSREELS) The creative ideas of the group BTS V and its spread of influence are making headlines.
On the 13th, BTS celebrated its seventh anniversary and unveiled the birthday party site on its official YouTube channel BTS TV “BTS Birthday.” The members shared the seventh anniversary of their debut six years ago, recreating the same situation as the first anniversary party.
On this day, the members sat around and shared their first impressions of each other, their sadness, and what they wanted to say.
When asked what V’s role is in BTS, member J-Hope said, “I’m not sick of Taehyung (V) is there. It’s novel. It’s unique,” he said, noting V’s speciality. “It gives a lot of good synergy and energy.
The most representative examples of V’s special originality are “I Purple You” and purple.
“I Purple You” became a special meaning for fans to replace “I love you” after seeing the purple cheering sticks waving by fans at the fan meeting site in 2016 and expressing their wish that “ARMY and BTS would be together for a long time like purple, the last color of the rainbow.”
“I Purple You” is so popular around the world that it is listed in the Urban Dictionary with the English expression “I Purple You.”

UNICEF President Henrietta Fore, U.S. NBC channel’s Judge Hau Mandel of America’s Got Talent, and pop queen Janet Jackson have also made headlines for using the words “I Purple You” and purple heart emoji.

When V gave meaning to purple, it became the symbol of BTS. Global companies such as Samsung and Starbucks also released purple-themed collaboration products and welcomed the visit by lighting purple at the major landmarks of the city on BTS’ overseas tour.

V’s originality is also shown in his signature “V-gnature made by V.” Unlike “V” in general, V’s unique signature, which is applied to his eyes using his long fingers, was also copied by the U.S. broadcaster anchor when he introduced BTS’ LA concert.
V’s extraordinary originality has created an unmistakable shift in expression and ideas, and is also giving energy to BTS. That’s why the members call V a “genius.”
