According to the latest chart released by Billboard, ‘MAP OF THE SOUL: 7’, released in February last year, ranked 113th on the Billboard 200 this week.
This album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 right after its release and stayed on the chart for 60 consecutive weeks. It is the longest record for a K-pop artist’s album. As for the number of entries in the career chart, ‘LOVE YOURSELF 結 Answer’ released by BTS in August 2018 is more than 98 weeks, but ‘MAP OF THE SOUL: 7’ is longer for consecutive chart entry periods.
The ‘BE’ album released by BTS in November of last year is also continuing its momentum by being on the charts, ranking 117th in the latest Billboard 200.
Meanwhile, on this week’s Billboard 200 chart, ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version),’ which re-recorded her 2nd studio album ‘Fearless’ in 13 years by Taylor Swift, ranked first. Billboard said that this is the only album that re-recorded an existing album to take the top spot on Billboard.
