Clayton Kershaw’s mother, Marianne Tombaugh, passed away on May 7. Kershaw’s wife mentioned it during a dedication of a youth baseball field, which was supported by his charity foundation.
Kershaw’s parents divorced when he was 10 and his mother raised him in suburban Dallas. His father died in 2013. Kershaw and his wife have four children. Despite the loss, the 35-year-old pitcher is scheduled to start on Tuesday against the Minnesota Twins, according to manager Dave Roberts.
