Colorado school principal asks parents to help guard campus after student shooting

A middle school principal in Denver, Colorado, has asked parents to volunteer to check student IDs and guard the school doors after two administrators were shot by a student in the area.

The principal of McAuliffe International School in Denver, Colorado, has asked parents to volunteer to guard the doors of the school following two administrators being shot by a student in the area.

Kurt Dennis requested parents check student IDs and watch the entrances, with volunteers set to be given bright yellow vests to identify them. The measures come after a student at nearby East High School opened fire on two people who were searching him for weapons.

Hoodies have also been banned from the school uniform over concerns about the ability of students to conceal items in their pockets.
