Competitors Honor Expired Bed Bath & Beyond Coupons Amidst Bankruptcy

Big Lots & The Container Store announced they'll accept Bed Bath & Beyond's 20% off coupons. BB&B filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last Sunday.

If you missed the chance to use your expired Bed Bath & Beyond coupons, fear not, as some of the retailer’s competitors are stepping in to help out.

Both Big Lots and The Container Store have announced that they will honor Bed Bath & Beyond’s iconic blue and white 20% off coupons. Big Lots has confirmed that customers can present their Bed Bath & Beyond coupons at any of its 1,425 locations and receive a 20% discount on their entire purchase. To qualify for this one-time offer, however, the purchase must total at least $50. The deal runs until May 7th.

Meanwhile, The Container Store’s offer is even more generous and lasts until the end of May. Customers with “a competitor’s blue coupon” can receive a 20% discount on one item’s price, provided that they have the coupon with them when making an in-store purchase. The discount will apply to the most expensive item that is valid under the deal.

Bed Bath & Beyond filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last Sunday, which prompted the retailer to stop accepting coupons on Wednesday. However, gift cards will still be valid until May 8th. On Tuesday, the company also revealed that its stock will be delisted from the Nasdaq next Wednesday.

Filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy doesn’t necessarily mean the end for an American business, but it does signal financial troubles. It remains to be seen what the future holds for Bed Bath & Beyond, but in the meantime, savvy shoppers can take advantage of these offers from Big Lots and The Container Store to stretch their dollars further.
