Flag Football Star Diana Flores Leaves Her Mark in Pro Football Hall of Fame

Diana Flores, a rising star in flag football, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first flag football player to have her artifacts displayed in the prestigious Pro Football Hall of Fame. The jersey she wore in a popular NFL Super Bowl commercial, along with a football signed by women’s sports icon Billie Jean King and the New York Jets’ Sauce Gardner, has been added to the museum’s collection.

Until recently, Flores was relatively unknown to the wider public. However, that changed on February 12 when she appeared as the protagonist in the NFL commercial “Run with it” during the Super Bowl. In the commercial, the Mexican flag footballer skillfully avoids having her flags taken away for an impressive two minutes.

Flores, now 25, began her flag football journey at the age of 8, at a time when the sport was not as popular as it is today. She had to compete on men’s teams since there were no dedicated teams or leagues for women back then. It was during this time that Flores developed her passion for equality, a cause she continues to champion.

Joining the Mexican flag football team at 16, Flores has since competed in four World Games, showcasing her exceptional skills and earning a bronze, a silver, and a gold medal. Her remarkable performance in a match against the United States, where she threw four touchdown passes, secured the gold medal for her team last year.

Following her success, Flores received an invitation from the NFL to participate in flag football games at the Pro Bowl. At this prestigious event, she served as an offensive coordinator alongside retired quarterback Peyton Manning and had the opportunity to meet former linebacker Ray Lewis.

Flores, who graduated with a degree in marketing and communication last year, is currently pursuing a master’s degree in innovation and business development at the renowned Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico.

Expressing her gratitude, Flores said, “I’m honored to have my jersey become a part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame collection, alongside NFL legends and football stars I greatly admire. This is not only personally meaningful but also a significant moment for flag football as a whole. It symbolizes that football is for everyone, especially women and girls.”

Diana Flores’s induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame represents a milestone for the sport and serves as an inspiration for aspiring female athletes around the world.
