HYBE was selected as one of the ‘100 Most Influential Companies in the World’ published by <TIME>. The list included Google, Tesla, and Apple. <TIME> introduced HYBE as the company that made the most significant public announcement within the last three years in Korea in October and explained it as “Currently HYBE is flying on a high altitude, thanks to the world’s largest supergroup BTS.”
In addition, <TIME> noted that, like Disney in the past, HYBE focuses on the artist’s IP (Intellectual Property Rights), developing into fan-friendly experiences and products. Also, it is paid attention that HYBE invested more than KRW 66.7 billion (about $59 million) in YG Plus at the end of January this year and acquired Ithaca Holdings Media Group in the U.S. for about $950 million in April.
Founded in 2005, HYBE—formerly known as Big Hit Entertainment—was once an underdog talent agency in South Korea’s competitive music industry. But thanks to supergroup BTS, the company is in rarefied air #TIME100Companies https://t.co/s4FDaSdOf2 pic.twitter.com/ma1ixRmdhx
