Klay Thompson, the Golden State Warriors player, may not have the full support of his family during Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Los Angeles Lakers.
His father, Mychal Thompson, played for and won championships with the Lakers in the 1980s, and remains part of the team’s franchise as a radio analyst. Klay expressed his excitement for the upcoming match-up, but joked that he expected his dad would be torn over which team to support.
Despite growing up a Lakers fan, Klay is eager to “stick it to” his once favorite team, as the series kicks off in San Francisco on Tuesday.
