LAPD officer shoots stabbing suspect in East Hollywood

An officer with the Los Angeles Police Department shot a stabbing suspect in East Hollywood following an altercation on the Metro transit platform. The suspect allegedly stabbed another man after leaving the Metro station. The officer gave multiple commands for the suspect to drop his knife, but he refused, leading to the officer-involved shooting. The suspect was taken to the hospital in stable condition. This incident comes just days after a homeless man allegedly bit off a LAPD sergeant's finger at a nearby Metro station.

LAPD officers shot a suspect who had allegedly stabbed a woman and man at a Metro transit platform in East Hollywood. According to LAPD Lt. Letisia Ruiz, the altercation began when the suspect injured the woman, and a male bystander tried to intervene.

The suspect then brandished a knife and fled the scene. Later, he reportedly stabbed another man, who was hospitalized in stable condition.

When LAPD officers arrived, they repeatedly asked the suspect to drop his knife, but he refused. After an officer-involved shooting, the suspect was transported to the hospital in stable condition. The incident is currently under investigation.
