A Long Beach man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend. Oscar Alejandro Chan, 41, was taken into custody on Wednesday and booked for one count of murder, among other charges.
Police said Chan had gone to his ex-girlfriend’s home earlier that day and got into a fight with the victim, which led to the shooting. The victim was taken to the hospital but died from his injuries. While investigators believe the shooting was related to an argument between Chan’s ex-girlfriend and the victim, the motive remains under investigation.
Chan is being held on $2 million bail. Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact the Homicide Detectives or submit anonymous tips through “LA Crime Stoppers”.
