Longtime UCLA broadcaster Chris Roberts passes away at 74

Chris Roberts, who served as the voice of UCLA football for 23 seasons, has passed away at 74 due to complications of Parkinson's disease. Roberts also broadcasted the men's basketball team through 19 trips to the NCAA Tournament and authored two books. He was a four-time Golden Mike Award winner and a Hall of Fame member in the Southern California Sports Broadcasters Association. Roberts is survived by his wife, son, daughter-in-law, daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren.

Longtime UCLA broadcaster Chris Roberts passed away at his home in Glendora due to complications of Parkinson’s disease. He served as the voice of UCLA football for 23 seasons and called 16 bowl games.

Roberts also broadcasted the men’s basketball team through 19 trips to the NCAA Tournament during his tenure, including the Bruins’ 1995 NCAA Tournament Championship.

In addition to his broadcasting career, Roberts was a real estate agent and junior varsity baseball coach at Glendora High School. He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
