A Los Angeles man, Namir Malik Ali Greene, was arrested for allegedly robbing more than 30 gas stations and committing two carjackings between March 21 and April 15.
Officials claimed that Greene used a semi-automatic handgun to threaten store clerks and steal cash from registers. During his three-and-a-half-week crime spree, Greene is suspected of stealing more than $15,000.
He is also accused of carjacking two people and using one of the stolen vehicles as a getaway car. If convicted of the Hobbs Act robbery charge, he could face up to 20 years in federal prison.
