Marines Assaulted by Group of Teens in San Clemente, Orange County; Search for Attackers Underway

Two Marines were brutally beaten by a group of teenagers in San Clemente, Orange County. Authorities are seeking the attackers.

In a disturbing incident near the pier on Avenida del Mar in San Clemente, two Marines were viciously assaulted by a group of teenagers. The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. on Friday, prompting a response from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD).

According to OCSD spokesperson Mike Woodroof, the Marines received minor injuries to their hands, knees, abdomens, and heads. Although offered medical assistance, they chose not to go to a hospital. The exact number of attackers remains unclear, but Woodroof estimates it to be somewhere between 10 and 30 individuals.

A video of the melee, circulating online and approximately one minute long, captured the brutal assault. The footage shows the Marines on the ground, attempting to protect themselves from the relentless attack.

The brawl seemingly came to an end when a man and a woman intervened, urging the group to stop. Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident, and the attackers could face charges ranging from assault with a deadly weapon to assault and battery.
