Oakland Community Stunned by Gruesome Discovery of Body Wrapped in Plastic and Carpet

The mother of a 33-year-old woman, Megan Ashley Lynch, has revealed that her daughter's body was found wrapped in plastic and carpet, and dumped in Oakland.

The community of Oakland was left stunned following the discovery of the body of Megan Ashley Lynch. Her mother, Christy Miles, shared that Lynch’s body was wrapped in plastic, rolled up in a carpet, and then dumped in the 2100 block of Brush Street on March 23.

The Alameda County Coroner has not yet identified the woman, citing a press hold on her death. Oakland police have also been tight-lipped, only confirming that the death on Brush Street, which occurred just after 10:15 a.m., was suspicious.

“I feel like I’m losing my mind,” said Miles, who has tragically already lost one child – her son, Devin West, was killed by his cellmate at Santa Rita Jail last year. She is now left to mourn the loss of her daughter, and is fundraising for funeral expenses, while urging anyone with information to come forward.

The circumstances surrounding Lynch’s death are unclear, and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPD Criminal Investigations Division at (510) 238-3326. The community is left shaken and searching for answers in the wake of this brutal discovery.
