Possible substance overdose sickens three children at LA middle school

Three students at a Los Angeles middle school were sickened after ingesting an unknown substance, leading to hospitalization.

At least three students at Johnnie L. Cochran Middle School in Los Angeles’ Arlington Heights were sickened Monday after possibly ingesting an unknown substance. Paramedics were called to the campus around 11:35 a.m. after children experienced an “altered level of consciousness.”

One child was seen being transferred to an ambulance for hospital transport. Police are investigating the incident.
