Safety Concerns Sparked by Triple Shooting at Dockweiler Beach

At least three people were shot during a party at Dockweiler State Beach in Playa del Rey, sparking safety concerns.

A shooting at Dockweiler State Beach in Playa del Rey has left three teenagers injured, sparking safety concerns in the area. The incident occurred on Friday evening during a series of fights involving between 500 to 1,000 people. Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to the beach after receiving a shots fired call.

The party, which was being promoted on social media platforms including TikTok, was attended by a large number of people leading up to the weekend. This raised concerns about safety at the beach, especially with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The shooting left two girls and a boy injured, and officials did not release any information about their specific conditions. In addition to the LAPD, officers from Los Angeles Airport Police and the Manhattan Beach and Hawthorne police departments were called to assist with crowd control and create a skirmish line at Imperial Highway and Vista Del Mar.

Following the incident, police presence has been increased in the area to prevent any repeat of the violence. Despite no partygoers being present at the beach on Monday, police officers were still patrolling the area.

The shooting has raised questions about the need for increased security measures at public beaches and events. Authorities are urging the public to report any suspicious activity and to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.

In a statement, LAPD Chief Michel Moore said, “We are committed to working with our partners in law enforcement to ensure that our beaches and public spaces remain safe for everyone to enjoy.”
