Sleep Safely: Walker Edison Furniture Recalls Bunk Beds Due to Fall and Impact Hazards

Parents, take note: over 121,000 units of twin bunk beds sold online are being recalled by Walker Edison Furniture due to breakages that can cause fall and impact hazards.

If you’re the parent of a child who sleeps on a bunk bed, it’s time to pay attention. Walker Edison Furniture, a popular manufacturer of furniture, is recalling its twin bunk beds due to the beds being able to break while in use, posing fall and impact hazards.

The recall affects around 121,000 units sold online at popular retailers like Walmart.com, HomeDepot.com, Amazon.com, Overstock.com, and Wayfair.com from February 2010 through February 2022, for a price range of $206 to $389.

According to the company, it has received 14 reports of incidents of the bunk beds’ slats breaking, with one report even including minor injuries. This is a concerning safety issue, so it’s important to act quickly if you own one of these bunk beds.

Owners of these bunk beds should immediately stop using them and contact the company for a free repair kit. The kit consists of 12 wooden slats and new instructions, so you can repair the bed and make it safe for your child to use once again.

Walker Edison Furniture has set up a toll-free hotline for anyone who has questions or concerns about the recall. You can reach them at 877-203-2917 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. MT Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. MT on Friday. You can also email the company at recall@walkeredison.com.
