South Carolina shooting leaves 9 injured, 2 arrested

A shooting at a park in South Carolina injured 9 people aged 16-20. Two individuals have been arrested and charged with drug and weapons offenses.

Nine people between the ages of 16 and 20 were injured in a shooting at a park in Columbia, South Carolina, early on Saturday. The Richland County Sheriff’s Office said they were initially called to the scene to investigate a group of juveniles, but found evidence of multiple calibres of bullet casings.

One person was also hit by a car and another suffered a hand injury. When deputies stopped a car leaving the scene without headlights, they arrested 19-year-old Miquise Fulwiley and 18-year-old Ty’Quan Kelly. Both have been charged with drug and weapons offences.
