South Korean actor Yoo Ah-in (real name: Uhm Hong-sik) is set to be summoned for questioning next week after being accused of drug use. According to a Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency official, investigators are currently analyzing materials obtained from two locations linked to Yoo and medical records from a hospital. The official stated that once the analysis is complete, they will request Yoo’s attendance for questioning.
The investigation was launched after four types of drugs, including marijuana, propofol, cocaine, and ketamine, were found in Yoo’s hair. The police carried out a search and seizure operation at two residences belonging to Yoo in Seoul’s Yongsan-gu district on March 7.
When asked about the length of the investigation, the official stated that there were still areas that needed to be strengthened, and additional drugs had been discovered. They stressed that this did not necessarily mean that Yoo was guilty, and they were working to supplement their investigation.
In addition, the official mentioned that since January 1, more than 400 people have been involved in drug crackdowns. They plan to continue their crackdowns throughout the year and have been focusing on targeting young drug offenders who use social media to distribute narcotics.
