As the spread of COVID 19 in Hong Kong has entered a lull, protests against the quiet criminal extradition bill are reviving.
The Civil Rights Front, an opposition group that has led protests against the repatriation law since last year, was scheduled to march from Tsim Sha Tsui to Mongkok to demand the resignation of Hong Kong’s administrative minister Cariram, but police refused to allow it, citing concerns over the spread of COVID 19.
Demonstrators then staged guerrilla protests at shopping malls in Hong Kong, chanting slogans such as “not one of the five major demands can be missed.”
