Actor Youn Yuh-jung of the movie “Minari” won the SAG Best Supporting Actress Award on the 4th.
Youn Yuh-jung was surprised when her name was called.
“I don’t know how to express this feeling,” Youn Yuh-jung said in his acceptance speech. “I’m especially honored that my fellow actors chose me.
She also thanked other candidates who competed for the Best Supporting Actress award. Along with Young Youn Yuh-jung, actors including Olivia Colman, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress, also celebrated her win.
The awards ceremony hosted by the American Actor’s Association is considered a “previewing Oscar” because it often leads to the Academy Awards of the winners.
Last year, the cast of director Bong Joon-ho’s “Parasite” won the ensemble award for the first time in an Asian film. Youn Yuh-jung is the first Korean actor to receive an individual award. The award raises public expectations for the water parsley team and Young Youn-jung for Oscar.
The ensemble and best actor awards, in which Minari team and actor Steven Yeun were nominated for SAG, went to the film ‘The Trial of the Chicago 7’ and the late Chadwick Boseman.
