The Latest Scam: Smart TVs Under Attack by Fraudsters, Warns BBB

Scammers are targeting smart TVs with pop-ups and voice cloning, warns BBB. Users should be vigilant and avoid giving personal info or buying gift cards.

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is cautioning the public against scammers using smart TVs to steal personal information and money. The fraudsters use pop-ups to dupe users into buying gift cards or divulging private data.

The BBB also revealed how scammers are now resorting to AI voice cloning to deceive people into thinking they are talking to their loved ones, tricking them into sending money. Stay alert, and don’t fall for these scams, warns the BBB.
