The most popular subway advertisements are Samsung Station, Gangnam Station, Hongdae Station, and Hapjeong Station. In particular, Hapjeong Station is not only in the spotlight as a new business district, but also enjoys great popularity as it is packed with various entertainment agencies.

In addition, Apgujeong Station on Line 3 and Myeong-dong Station on Line 4 are also popular.

The amount of subway advertisements varies depending on various conditions such as the location, size, and type of advertisements, but on average, the largest number of advertisements in history (based on Samsung Station on Line 2) is up to 4.5 million won per month.

After the advertiser requests the advertisement agency to publish the advertisement application, the agency requests the Seoul Metro to review the advertisement design in consultation with the advertiser. The corporation will hold its own advertising review committee to determine the suitability of the advertisement and post it on the subway if there is no problem.

It takes about a week from application for advertisement to publication. However, it may take one to two months to go through an external advertising review committee due to problems with advertising.

“The advertisement of the Seoul subway, which is used by 7.5 million people a day, is an attractive promotional tool with very high exposure,” said Kim Jung-hwan, head of the space business department at the Seoul Metro. “We will make more efforts to catch two rabbits: generating profits and providing various promotional means.”
