Tragedy Unfolds in Hollywood Hills: Search Underway for Killers in Illegal Casino Shooting

LAPD launches manhunt for armed assailants turned murderers after a fatal shooting at an illicit casino in the Hollywood Hills.

In the early hours of Wednesday, chaos erupted as the Los Angeles Police Department responded to numerous reports of gunshots in the 3300 block of Cahuenga Boulevard. Investigators have revealed that two masked individuals, armed with weapons, entered the establishment through the rear entrance and confronted a security guard. Tragically, before the guard could defend himself, he was fatally shot multiple times by at least one of the assailants.

The victim, identified as 32-year-old Anthony Rivas, a devoted family man survived by his wife and two young children, was pronounced dead at the scene. Known affectionately as “Barry White” among loved ones due to his appearance, Rivas leaves behind a grieving family. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to support them during this difficult time.

Following the shooting, the suspects proceeded deeper into the club, indicating a likely robbery attempt. It has since been revealed that the targeted hookah lounge served as a front for an underground casino engaged in high-stakes gambling.

The investigation prompted a closure of Cahuenga Boulevard at Oakshire Drive, causing disruptions for several hours before reopening. Determined to bring the perpetrators to justice, investigators meticulously combed the area for surveillance footage and any potential leads.

Authorities urge anyone with information about the incident, the illicit operation, or the identities of the two suspects to contact LAPD Valley Homicide Detective Gabe Bucknell at 818-374-1928. The search for these killers intensifies as the community mourns the loss of a beloved family man and demands justice for Anthony Rivas.
