Early on Wednesday morning, signs strategically placed near Venice and Dell streets alerted the community of the imminent cleanup, set to commence at daybreak.
However, amidst the excitement of this revitalization, concerns were raised by a prominent homeless advocacy group. Their claim suggested that approximately 40 individuals experiencing homelessness would face displacement, unable to return due to the forthcoming fencing off of the area.

“As we embark on this transformative journey, scheduled to commence tomorrow, we have been actively engaged in efforts to ensure the well-being and smooth transition of those currently residing in the encampment. In collaboration with esteemed organizations like CIRCLE, LAHSA, St. Joseph, and SHARE, we are wholeheartedly committed to providing them with safe and viable housing alternatives. Moreover, we have meticulously planned a comprehensive CARE+ service day to restore public health, enhance safety, and foster accessibility along this vital thoroughfare.”
