Volkswagen Atlas SUVs Recalled Over Faulty Airbag Issues

Volkswagen recalls over 143,000 Atlas SUVs due to faulty occupant detection systems, which could deactivate the front passenger air bag.

Volkswagen has issued a recall on select 2018-2021 Atlas and 2020 Atlas Cross Sport vehicles due to potential airbag issues. The affected vehicles, numbering 143,053, may have faulty wiring in their front passenger seat occupant detection systems that could lead to airbag deactivation in the event of a crash. Volkswagen is currently working on a solution and will notify owners as soon as possible.

In the meantime, owners are advised not to allow anyone to sit in the front passenger seat until the problem has been resolved.
