BLACKPINK’s ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ Dance Practice Video Hits 300 Million Views

BLACKPINK set another first·best record in K-Pop group history on YouTube not only with their music video, but also with a dance practice video.

According to YG Entertainment on May 18, BLACKPINK’s ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ dance practice video surpassed 300 million views on YouTube as of 3:16 AM.

The music video for ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ has previously surpassed 1.1 billion views, approximately 2 months ago. The upward trend of the official music video surprised everyone, while their dance practice video also reaching millions of views lets us realize BLACKPINK’s global popularity.

‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ is the title song of BLACKPINK’s first mini album ‘SQUARE UP’, released back in 2018. The oriental percussion rhythm and whistle sounds on top of a strong Trap beat impress the listeners of the song.

‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ achieved an ‘all-kill’ on Korean music charts as soon as it was released, as well as hitting overseas music charts. The song and album was ranked at no. 40 and no. 55 on Billboard’s main charts including the Billboard 200 and Hot 100, setting the best record in K-Pop girl group history. Furthermore, BLACKPINK became the first K-Pop girl group to be certified Gold by the RIAA through their song ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’.

With 35.4 million subscribers, which is the biggest figure among all Korean groups, BLACKPINK is continuing their status as the ‘YouTube Queens’. They have a total of 18 videos with over 100 million views including their official music videos and performance clips.

The dance practice videos with over 100 million views include ‘BOOMBAYAH’, ‘WHISTLE’, ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’, ‘PLAYING WITH FIRE’, ‘Forever Young’, ‘SOLO’, ‘Don’t Know What To Do’, and ‘Kill This Love’.
