BTS Becomes Korea’s Biggest Album Selling Singer…Accumulated sales of over 20 million units
Group BTS has become the singer who sold the most records in K-pop history.
The agency Big Hit Entertainment said on April 9 that a total of 20.32 million albums released by BTS had been sold until last month. Record sales were based on Gaon Charts run by the Korea Music Content Association. BTS released 14 albums until recently, starting with its debut album “Two Cool for School” in 2013.
In particular, “Map of the Soul: 7,” which was released this year, sold 4,179,000 copies and received the “Quadruple Million” certification for the first time. The previous film, “Map of the Soul: Persona,” sold 3.77 million copies. Including these records, BTS has made seven albums a million seller in a row, starting with the album “Wings” released in October 2016.
BTS‘ “Map of the Soul: 7” album is currently at the top of the U.S. Billboard’s main album chart for the sixth consecutive week, ranking 25th on the latest chart of “Billboard 200.”
