A Colorado school bus driver has been fired and charged with dozens of counts of child abuse after slamming on the brakes, causing elementary students to tumble into seats in front of them. In a video, the driver is heard warning students to stay seated, before abruptly slamming on the brakes. The incident, which occurred on March 1, led to the driver being fired from his job. He now faces one count of child abuse-knowing/reckless-bodily injury and 29 counts of child abuse-knowing/reckless-no injury, all misdemeanours.

The incident occurred on March 1 in the Denver area, and Fitzgerald has since been fired from his job. He is now facing one count of child abuse-knowing/reckless-bodily injury and 29 counts of child abuse-knowing/reckless-no injury.

The district spokeswoman described the video as being “incredibly difficult to watch.”
