Colorado school bus driver facing child abuse charges after slamming brakes, sending elementary students tumbling.
Video shows driver scolding students about staying seated before suddenly slamming the brakes, causing the students to lurch forward and hit the seats in front of them.
The incident occurred on March 1 in the Denver area, and Fitzgerald has since been fired from his job. He is now facing one count of child abuse-knowing/reckless-bodily injury and 29 counts of child abuse-knowing/reckless-no injury.
The district spokeswoman described the video as being “incredibly difficult to watch.”
