Commemorating the Armenian Genocide

Hundreds gathered in LA for rallies commemorating Armenian Genocide, with schools closed and a state holiday established to mark the event.

Hundreds gathered in Little Armenia for a rally commemorating the 108th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. A second rally was also held outside the Turkish Consulate in Beverly Hills. Schools in the Los Angeles and Glendale unified school districts were closed for Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, and a bill establishing it as a state holiday was signed into law last year.

Glendale also held its 22nd annual Armenian Genocide Commemorative Event, which included a tribute to the atrocities in the Nagorno Karabakh region and a preview of Armenia’s submission for the 2024 Oscars best international film category.
