Florida Woman Arrested for Nearly Striking Families at Beach in Reckless Driving Incident

A Florida woman has been arrested for allegedly driving recklessly and endangering families at a beach, narrowly avoiding a collision.

A Florida woman, identified as Sarah Ramsammy, has been arrested and charged following an incident at Smyrna Dunes Park on Saturday. According to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office, Ramsammy is facing charges of DUI (driving under the influence) and reckless driving.

The incident unfolded when helicopter and bodycam footage captured a blue vehicle parked in tire-high water. Ramsammy, wearing a green t-shirt, was seen standing beside a passenger who was also in the vehicle. When questioned by authorities, Ramsammy claimed she was “not sure” what had happened.

In the video, Ramsammy admitted to being the driver and explained that they were attempting to turn around as they believed making a U-turn was not possible in the area. However, authorities informed her that they had allegedly come close to hitting a child.

Following the incident, Ramsammy was taken into custody by law enforcement. The charges against her include DUI and reckless driving. The authorities are urging anyone with additional information about the incident to come forward.

Reckless driving incidents pose a serious threat to public safety, particularly when families and children are involved. Law enforcement agencies continue to emphasize the importance of responsible driving and urge individuals to prioritize the well-being of others on the road.
