Former LAPD Officer Faces Child Sexual Assault Charges; Police Seek More Victims

A former Los Angeles Police Department officer is facing charges of child sexual abuse, and detectives believe there may be additional victims.

Paul Razo, a former LAPD officer, was arrested on May 10th on multiple counts of child sexual assault, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The LA District Attorney’s office has charged Razo with eight counts of lewd acts against a child.

Razo is accused of assaulting children between 2007 and 2016, during his time living in Covina. Officials believe that there may be more victims and are urging anyone with information to contact the LASD’s Special Victims Bureau.

Detectives are still investigating the case, and anyone with information can leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers. The charges against Razo highlight the continued problem of child sexual abuse and the importance of reporting such crimes to authorities.
