Frank Ocean Cancels Coachella Weekend 2 Performance Due to Leg Injury

Frank Ocean has cancelled his scheduled performance during the second weekend of Coachella due to a leg injury and multiple fractures. The artist had previously performed during the first weekend of the festival after a six-year hiatus.

According to Variety, a representative for Frank Ocean confirmed that the artist would not be performing during the second weekend of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival due to doctor’s orders. The statement from Ocean’s representative explained that the artist was rehabbing multiple fractures and a sprain in his leg.

The statement also mentioned that Frank Ocean had suffered an injury to his leg during the week leading up to his performance during Weekend 1 of the festival. Despite being unable to perform the intended show, Ocean was still intent on performing and the show was reworked in 72 hours.

Many fans were left confused and disappointed following Frank Ocean’s performance during Weekend 1, which included a late start, mid-performance DJ set and no ice rink, which had been previously reported. According to several outlets, the ice rink was scrapped just hours before the show due to Ocean’s leg injury.

Social media was abuzz with reactions to the news that Ocean would not be performing during Weekend 2, with some calling it a “scam” and others expressing disappointment, especially those who had bought tickets mainly to see the artist.

Variety reported that blink-182 would be taking the headlining spot in Frank Ocean’s place. Despite this setback, Frank Ocean’s loyal fan base is undoubtedly looking forward to his return to the stage as soon as he is fully recovered.
