Gunman in Midtown Atlanta’s Northside Hospital shooting, Deion Patterson, has been taken into custody, confirmed Atlanta Police. One of the victims, identified as 38-year-old Amy St. Pierre, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Patterson was discharged from the Coast Guard in January 2023 and identified by surveillance video. A handgun was seized, and Patterson faces four counts of aggravated assault and one count of murder.
The suspect was apprehended without incident after an operator in Cobb County’s Real Time Crime Center tracked the 911 call made by the suspect to a specific location. Patterson’s mother has stated he had “some mental instability” due to medication from Veterans’ Affairs Health System.
