Tragedy struck in Los Angeles’ Koreatown neighborhood on Tuesday when a female pedestrian was fatally struck in a hit-and-run incident. The Los Angeles Police Department reported that the driver of a 2005 silver Nissan Altima hit the woman around 5:15 a.m. near W. 1st Street and S. Westmoreland Avenue and then fled the scene.
Despite being taken to the hospital, the woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. The LAPD has yet to release her identity.
The search is on for the hit-and-run driver, with a reward of up to $50,000 being offered for information leading to their identification, arrest, and conviction. Anyone with any information is urged to contact the LAPD at 877-LAPD-247.
The loss of a life is always tragic, and it’s particularly heart-wrenching when the responsible party flees the scene. As the investigation continues, the hope is that someone will come forward with information that helps bring justice for the victim and her family.
