Man fatally shot by police in Oxnard after wielding knife

A 24-year-old man, identified as Michael Owens, was shot and killed by an Oxnard police officer on Saturday after he approached the officer with a knife and did not comply to commands to lower it. Owens was hallucinating and cutting himself with a knife before police arrived at the scene. He was taken to the hospital but was later pronounced dead. The police department said that body cam footage and more details will be released soon. Detectives are asking anyone with information to come forward.
