Martha Stewart has made history as the oldest Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover model at the age of 81. The lifestyle mogul shared her experience on the “Today” show, describing the photoshoot as “odd” but also exciting.

Stewart, who was deemed “the OG of influencers” by the magazine, is a businesswoman and media personality. She is the founder of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and has authored 99 lifestyle books. Sports Illustrated requested that she be ready to pose for the cover by the end of January, which Stewart noted was “a request I’d never had before.”

The mogul rose to fame in the 1980s with her cookbooks and later launched her magazine, Martha Stewart Living. She has also hosted two syndicated television shows. However, her cultural significance extends beyond her career accomplishments. In 2004, Stewart served a five-month sentence in a federal prison for insider trading, which ultimately expanded her fan base.

In recent years, Stewart has also gained attention for her friendship with Snoop Dogg and her occasional Instagram “thirst traps.” Despite her age, Stewart proves that beauty and confidence know no bounds. Sports Illustrated also named actress Megan Fox, singer-songwriter Kim Petras, and model and entrepreneur Brooks Nader as this year’s other Swimsuit Issue cover models.
