The retrial of actor Danny Masterson for rape charges began on Monday. The prosecution alleges that Masterson drugged and raped three women between 2001 and 2003. The trial comes after last year’s trial ended in a mistrial, with the jury leaning towards acquittal. Masterson’s attorney questioned the statements made by the women and warned the jury against making the case about Scientology.
Actress Bijou Phillips and actress and former Scientologist Leah Remini were present in court. Masterson was fired from the Netflix show “The Ranch” in 2017 following allegations of sexual assault.
