Legendary actor Robert De Niro has just welcomed his seventh child at the age of 79, sharing the exciting news with the world. While the couple had been very private about the pregnancy, De Niro recently confirmed that his girlfriend, Tiffany Chen, had given birth to a baby girl on April 6th.
In an interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings, the proud father revealed that they named their daughter Gia Virginia Chen-De Niro. He also shared a heartwarming photo of little Gia, dressed in pink and white striped footed pajamas.
According to King, the couple is “over the moon” about their new addition, and De Niro confirmed that the baby was planned. “We both wanted to have a child,” he said during the interview.
De Niro’s past and present costars have been quick to congratulate him and Chen on their new arrival. Billy Crystal, who has worked alongside De Niro in several films including “Analyze This” and “Analyze That,” spoke to People about the news. “You know, it’s amazing,” he said. “I think it’s a beautiful thing. It’s wonderful.”
Anders Holm, who stars in De Niro’s upcoming film “About My Father,” also shared his excitement, saying, “Hey man, I love it. I hope we can get the kids together and have a good time!”
De Niro’s previous six children are with three separate women. With his ex-wife Diahnne Abbott, he has daughter Drena and son Raphael. He shares twin sons Julian and Aaron with ex Toukie Smith, as well as Elliot and Helen Grace with his second ex-wife, Grace Hightower.
Despite being an older father, De Niro is thrilled to welcome Gia into the world and looks forward to the journey ahead with his growing family. Congratulations to the happy couple!
