Monday night’s Met Gala in New York City saw some big announcements – pregnancies from Serena Williams and Karlie Kloss. The tennis star and supermodel both chose the high-profile event to share their exciting news.
For Williams, the announcement was particularly poignant as she had taken a break from tennis last year to have a second child. This time, the 41-year-old revealed her pregnancy alongside her husband, Alexis Ohanian, in an interview with Vogue livestream host La La Anthony. In contrast, Williams accidentally posted her first pregnancy news on Snapchat with a caption that read “20 weeks.”
In a Vogue essay, Williams also explained that she wanted to focus more on her business interests. Her first child, daughter Olympia, is now five years old.
Kloss, on the other hand, shared her pregnancy news earlier in the night in an interview with another Vogue livestream host, Emma Chamberlain. The supermodel, who sported black hair for the event, prompted squeals of delight and an offer to babysit from the influencer.
Kloss and husband Josh Kushner welcomed their first child, son Levi, in March 2021. With the announcement of their second child on the way, fans are already excited to see what the future holds for these two successful women.
