Unfortunately, the child was found in the brook and was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital. A preliminary investigation by the police suggests that the boy’s father, 35-year-old Darel A. Galorenzo from Readsboro, Vermont, likely dropped him into the waterway as he fled the scene of the crash on foot.

Galorenzo was found nearby and taken into custody, charged with operating under the influence. Police have also indicated that additional charges related to the child’s death are expected to be brought against him.
