Jeffrey Giuliano, a 69-year-old American actor who appeared in the Netflix series ‘Squid Game’, has accused a McDonald’s restaurant at Amsterdam’s Schiphol International Airport of discriminating against him because of his nationality. According to Giuliano, he was on his way from Portugal to Thailand and stopped at the McDonald’s in the airport terminal due to hunger on December 31st of last year. However, he claims that he experienced anti-American discrimination there.
Giuliano alleged that he was chased out of the restaurant by employees who didn’t want to serve an American. He also claimed that when the McDonald’s employee heard his “American accent,” they suddenly refused to serve him. He released a video of the incident as evidence, showing him protesting passionately while holding the camera toward the employees. He said that he asked kindly, but the employees tried to chase him away.
McDonald’s has denied any wrongdoing, stating that they did not refuse to serve him because he was American, but because it was closing time. In an email sent to Giuliano, McDonald’s said that there was no evidence of assault, insult, or harassment in the video. The employees were also illegally filmed against their will.
Giuliano plans to sue both McDonald’s and Schiphol International Airport. He said that McDonald’s made an excuse that it was closing time, but everything happened because of employees who hate Americans. He also added that this was not the first time he had experienced this type of incident in the Netherlands.
The incident has raised concerns about discrimination against Americans and other nationalities. While McDonald’s has denied any wrongdoing, the incident shows that discrimination still exists and highlights the importance of addressing it.
