Grammy-winning soul R&B singer Betty Wright died while battling cancer.
According to U.S. media Billboard and Variety reports on the 10th (local time), Betty Wright died of cancer at her home in Miami last Sunday. He was 66 years old. Many fans are mourning.
Betty Wright began singing in the gospel group at the age of two with her brothers and sisters, and released an album in 1956 at the age of three. At age 11, she switched from gospel to R&B and began singing at a local show in Miami.
Betty Wright’s second album, “I Love the Way You Love,” and the single “Clean Up Woman,” released in 1971, performed well, and the song also ranked sixth on the Billboard Hot100 chart.
In addition, Betty Wright won the Best R&B Song Award at the “Where Is the Love” Grammy Awards a few years later.
