BLACKPINK "Kill This Love" MV reached 900 million views

(PRESSREELS) Following BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” “Kill This Love” MV reached 900 million views.

The music video for group BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love” surpassed 900 million views on YouTube, setting a career record for the second time.

According to YG Entertainment on the 7th, BLACKPINK’s music video for “Kill This Love” surpassed 900 million views on YouTube at 6:38 p.m. on the same day.

This will make BLACKPINK the first K-pop group to have two music videos with more than 900 million views, including “DDU-DU DDU-DU” and “Kill This Love.”

Their record breaking is expected to continue as their other hit songs “Boombayah” and “As If It’s Your Last” are also set to reach 900 million views.

The music video for “Kill This Love” captured the hearts of fans around the world by capturing BLACKPINK’s powerful yet charismatic dance lines and refined visual beauty. In particular, addictive point choreography, including a rifle-like move, is impressive. It was released on April 5 last year and surpassed 100 million views in 63 hours, starting a record march. It was also listed as the only K-pop in the top 10 of the “2019 World’s Most Viewed Music Video” released on YouTube.

In addition, “Kill This Love” ranked 41st on the U.S. Billboard’s main chart, 24th on the Billboard 200, and 33rd on the British Official Singles Chart, creating the first and best K-pop girl group at the time.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK’s recent release of its first full-length album, “How You Like That,” has made a splash, further cementing its position as “YouTube Queen.”

BLACKPINK’s “How You Like That” music video hit 86.3 million views on its first day of release, putting a total of five categories on the Guinness World Records, including “the most views of YouTube videos in 24 hours.” Since then, it has proved its global impact by setting a record of 100 million views in about 32 hours and 200 million views in seven days, the shortest time in YouTube music video history.
