(PRESSREELS) The group BTS and its agency Big Hit Entertainment donated 1 million U.S. dollars to help workers in the performance industry who suffered from COVID19.
According to Big Hit, BTS and Big Hit donated $1 million along with the “CREW NATION” campaign hosted by Live Nation, a global performance agency.
Live Nation said on its website that BTS and Big Hit have completed the donation process this month. ‘CREW NATION’ is a fund established to help concert staff who are in trouble due to the suspension and cancellation of performances under COVID19. Live Nation will make $5 million first, and artists and fans will donate $5 million more.
Live Nation revealed on its website that BTS and Big Hit donated money, saying, “It is one of the largest donations by artists since we conceived the CREW NATION Fund.”
According to Live Nation, the donation will be used to support 1,000 concert officials, and all nationalities, including Korea, can apply for support. More than 70 concert officials who were scheduled to work at BTS concerts have received support so far.
BTS had been scheduled to enter the new world tour ‘BTS Map of the Soul’ since April, but stopped all schedules due to COVID19.
BTS said, “If it weren’t for COVID19, we would have been touring the world happily with many staff members by now,” adding, “We know that many communities need help because of COVID19, and we wanted to help people in the music industry through donations.” “I can’t wait to see you again on stage.”
