With the spread of COVID 19 around the world, the rules of entry for the Academy Awards have changed.
The U.S. Academy of Sciences said it eased the requirement to submit an Academy Award’s entry into the theater for the first seven days of the year.
In the meantime, the Academy has been selecting winners for films that have been open for at least a week at a commercial theater in Los Angeles County.
” I firmly believe that there is no better way to experience the magic of movies than to watch them in theaters, ” the Academy said, ” but because of Corona 19, we need a temporary exception to our rules. “
