If Prince Andrew skipped his daughter’s, Princess Beatrice, engagement party, does that mean he’ll be skipping the wedding as well?Â
Princess Beatrice and her fiancé finally pushed through their engagement party. It was a star-studded party attended by their royal relatives and famous celebrities.
However, the soon-to-be bride’s father, Prince Andrew, was notably absent from the affair.
A source told the Daily Mail that the Duke of York did not want to attend his daughter’s engagement party because of the issues surrounding him.
He doesn’t want to overshadow his daughter, who will be getting married soon.
The Mail also reported that the Duke of York also took note that the attendees might face “abuse or embarrassment” if he ever attends the party.
Though he planned to visit Beatrice’s party together with his ex-wife Sarah Furgeson, things took a wild turn after his disastrous interview with BBC.
It was recently found out that his friend Jeffrey Epstein ran a sex trafficking hub. When he was captured, other famous people got associated with the pedophile and convicted sex offender. One of them is Prince Andrew.
Prince Andrew defended his side to clear his name. Unfortunately, the accusations grew larger.
Appearing in an interview with BBC months after Epstein committed suicide just before his trial would start, the Duke already received plenty of criticisms after he spoke about his relationship with the billionaire and the allegations of sexual abuse with then-underage Virginia Roberts.
Because of the allegations, Pitch@Palace‘s corporate sponsors decided to cut ties with him.
Not only was the Duke losing his business partners, but Prince Andrew was also forced to step down from his duties because of the tremendous amount of backlash he and the royal family received.
The Queen even reportedly removed his office from the palace and canceled his birthday plans.
Prince Andrew was also absent from the royal family’s Christmas gathering, which caught a lot of attention.
Princess Beatrice’s supposed engagement party was scheduled for December 18. Still, she had to reschedule to protect her father from the paparazzi, who was expecting her father at the venue to take pictures of him.
While the Princess did safeguard her father, the Prince could also skip the most important day of her daughter’s life too.
Since the investigation about the Duke’s role in Epstein’s dealings is still on-going, his presence at Princess Beatrice’s wedding is most likely to be not something people should expect about.
Even before planning for the wedding, Prince Andrew has already affected Princess Beatrice wedding. One issue is that wedding dress designers didn’t want to work with her because of her father.Â
It won’t be a surprise whether or not he’ll be there with his daughter to walk down the aisle. After all, his absences don’t seem to affect the monarchy.Â
